  • - ¼ cup honey
  • - 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • - 4 garlic cloves minced
  • - 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • - 1 teaspoon ground ginger optional
  • - ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • - 8-10 wooden or metal skewers
  • - 2 green onions chopped (for serving)
  • - 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds for serving
  • - Extra honey garlic sauce for dipping

Instructions

  • Whisk together soy sauce, honey, olive oil, garlic, vinegar, ginger, and pepper. Reserve 2-3 tablespoons for basting. Marinate chicken 1+ hours or overnight.

  • GRILL: Cook at 400°F for 10-12 minutes, turning every 3-4 minutes. OVEN: Bake at 425°F for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway. AIR FRYER: Cook at 390°F for 12-14 minutes, flipping once.
  • Brush with reserved marinade during last 2-3 minutes of cooking for extra glaze.
  • Check internal temperature reaches 165°F. Rest 2-3 minutes.
  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with rice and extra sauce.

Notes

- Chicken thighs stay juicier than breasts
- Don't reuse marinade that touched raw chicken unless boiled first
- Can freeze marinated chicken up to 2 months for meal prep
- Leave gaps between chicken pieces for even cooking
